Cardano (ADA), one of the largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, is now available on Ka.app. It’s the ninth crypto on Kasta’s list, and just like other coins and tokens, Kastians can now use $ADA to send, receive, swap crypto, and more.
What is $ADA?
$ADA is the native cryptocurrency of Cardano, a decentralized blockchain platform. The platform was developed as an alternative to Ethereum as they use similar applications (e.g., smart contracts), and share the same goal of building a decentralized system.
The name $ADA came from Augusta Ada King who has been coined the first computer programmer. The token was originally designed to process transactions in the blockchain and be given as a reward for the work done by users who participate in Cardano’s staking pool.
