Formula 2 Sponsorship and KASTA Token Burns: A Roundup

After 14 race weekends, from the first one held in Sakhir, Bahrain in March to the last one held in Abu Dhabi in November, the 2022 FIA Formula 2 (F2) Championship has officially come to an end.

Kasta pledged to sponsor Ralph Boschung, a Swiss race car driver under the Campos Racing team, this season by burning 9,861.93294 KASTA tokens each time he earns a point. Kasta’s brand was also displayed on the car he drove.

Based on the results, Ka.app burnt tokens for five race weekends, including the one where Ralph was substituted by fellow Spanish Campos Racing team member Roberto Merhi due to a neck injury.

a. Round 1: Sakhir, Bahrain

Ralph had an impressive start to the season as he concluded round 1 at the Bahrain International Circuit on March 18- 20 with 17 points. He placed 4th and earned 12 points during the feature race, and placed 4th in the sprint race which gave him five points

As a result, Ka.app burnt 167,652.85998 tokens on March 24. The transaction ID is here.

b. Round 3: Imola, Italy

The 3rd race weekend was held on April 22-24 at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Imola, Italy. Ralph had a podium finish during this round. He finished 3rd during the feature race, which earned him 15 points.

c. Round 6: Baku, Azerbaijan

Ralph sat out rounds 4 and 5 to recover from a neck injury, but he came back in round 6 with two points as he went from 22nd to 9th place at the feature race. The race weekend was held at the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan on June 10-12.

d. Round 8: Spielberg, Austria

Ralph withdrew again from round 7 because of his lingering neck injury. But the good thing is, fellow Campos Racing team member Roberto Merhi raced on his behalf in round 8, which was held at the Red Bull Ring, Spielberg, Australia on July 8-10.

Impressively, Roberto completed the feature race at the 3rd spot, a podium finish, which earned him 15 points. Kasta announced that the company would extend its sponsorship to Merhi, and thus we burnt 147,928.9941 KASTA tokens on July 14. View the transaction ID here.

e. Round 11: Spa, Belgium

Ralph returned to the competition in round 11 which was held at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Stavelot, Belgium on August 25-27. He finished 3rd, another podium moment, during the sprint race.

Ka.app burnt 59,171.59764 on August 31 with this transaction ID.
